Like all art, hardly anything in fashion is 'original.'  Mostly reconfigurations of common forms and shapes that repeat themselves all over this great big universe, even when done in taste, fashion is often a cycle of itself.

However, some artists manage to reinvent these rudimentary principles in such a way that uncommon form is born, creating an paradigm shift.  Christian Dior is one such artist.  Christian Dior's eye for design created such a lasting effect on fashion that even after his death, the new paradigm he created continues to grow in form.

Shallow Fashion ♥s Christian Dior.

Recently, a mass of Dior's couture collection has been complied from the works of photographer Patrick Demarchelier, who began shooting for Dior in the late 1940s.  These images can be found in retrospective book entitled, "Dior Couture," spanning Dior's couture collection from 1947 to today.

Here's a sneak peak at what's in store.  I can't wait to get my hands on this book!

For those of you who didn't make Shallow Fashion's first annual Warm Wishes trunk show, here's a little vignette of how it went.

Thanks to all the lovely attendees for coming, and a special thanks to Amberlie Bankoff of Ammo Photography for filming (especially after that long evening of birthday partying the night before).

Happy New Year everyone, hope to see you soon!
